El FGSD-1022 permite conectar hasta 8 estaciones de trabajo en el entorno Ethernet, en la que sus dos interfaces SFP Mini-GBIC enlazan al backbone del departamento. Por otra parte, el conmutador proporciona 5,6 Gigabits por segundo switch fabric y gran ancho de banda para conexión backbone.
